Read them in order, or jump to the one the tutorial pointed you at.
- FIDsEvery account is a number. Names are a separate layer on top.
- Custody addressesThe Ethereum address that owns a FID. It is the master key, so apps should never ask for it.
- App keysThe Ed25519 keys that sign messages. Adding one is now gasless, scoped and expires on its own.
- Snapchain messagesEvery cast, like, follow and profile edit is a small signed message. Here is what one contains and where it goes.
- Read nodes and validatorsValidators make blocks. Read nodes follow along and serve the API. Both accept writes, but a read node only passes them on.
- Storage rentAccounts rent storage by the year. When it fills up, the oldest messages fall off.
- Seed phrases are dangerousA seed phrase is the whole account. Use test accounts, trust the code, and prefer delegated signing.
The examples use the public node at https://haatz.quilibrium.com. Your own node answers the same paths on http://localhost:3381. Set NODE once and the commands work against either:
NODE=https://haatz.quilibrium.com
